Higher education seekers can get free tastings of college life at Penn State New Kensington. Traditional students, adult learners and veterans can see if the campus matches their taste buds on June 24, during the “Spend a Summer Day” admissions event.
The accolades continue for Penn State New Kensington centerfielder Allison Nicklas who was named to the 2017 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) softball All-America team. The recent alumna was selected in May to the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) All-Conference squad.
Penn State New Kensington honored the achievements of four campus alumni on June 16 in the campus’ Forum Theatre. Barbara Arnold, Gregory Garth, Raymond Mastre and Lisa Veitch comprised the inaugural class of distinguished alumni who received recognition from Chancellor Kevin Snider. Creative skill, imagination and intellectual achievement -- the humanities -- was in the limelight at the first “Off the Wall pARTy” at venues across the campus.
As one who favors impressionistic and expressionistic styles, Donald J. Wonderling will share his art, which features the landscapes and woodlands of southwestern Pennsylvania, through Aug. 25 in the Penn State New Kensington art gallery. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The National Science Foundation has joined in supporting Penn State’s goal of taking more of its discoveries to market by awarding Penn State a five-year, $500,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to establish the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partner’s TechCelerator, Happy Valley LaunchBox, and Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hubs.
