NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — New Kensington athletics updates for the week of April 2.

Torgent, Williams homer in loss to Mont Alto

The Penn State New Kensington (0-8, 0-2 PSUAC) softball team opened up Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) play with a double header at Penn State Mont Alto (4-0, 2-0 PSUAC). In game one, New Kensington got on top early after freshman Lauren Torgent’s first collegiate home run. Sophomore Morgan Williams hit her second home run of the season later in the game, but New Kensington fell 12-4. Mont Alto won the second game 9-1 with junior Alyssa Slancauskas driving in the lone run.

Baseball falls to Mont Alto

Penn State Mont Alto (5-8, 1-0 PSUAC) beat Penn State New Kensington in baseball on March 30, 11-1. Sophomore Darius Bennis picked up the RBI for New Kensington, scoring freshman Alex Polka. Polka went 2-for-3 on the day.
