Admission Decisions and Process Announcements:
Summer/Fall 2020 Admission
Penn State is not altering the decision process for students applying for undergraduate admission to Penn State. However, the Undergraduate Admissions Office is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is following the guidance of Penn State health and safety officials.
Penn State wants to help support our future students impacted by the outbreak. We understand that fulfilling all parts of the application process may be difficult at this time, so we will remain flexible and continue accepting international student application materials up to May 1, 2020. As soon as students are able to send documents, they should do so and contact the Office of Admissions and Student Aid by emailing [email protected].
We want to assure future students that their health and safety is important to us and we are here to help as students work through the application process for Penn State.
Students applying for admission to Penn State for the summer or fall terms 2021 will have the option of having SAT/ACT scores included in their evaluation for admission. Penn State’s application for summer/fall 2021 will be open for future undergraduate students starting August 1, 2020. Students will indicate via a question on the application whether they want test scores used in the evaluation of their application for admission. Test scores will still be required for applicants that have been home schooled, and applicants for the Premedical-Medical program.

Orientation Information for Accepted Students
- With the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus and in the interest of your health and safety, Penn State has announced that new student orientation will be held virtually for 2020. For orientation, students can begin making reservations the week of April 20 and will be able to select a date to begin their virtual orientation experience based upon their starting semester, campus of enrollment, and college of enrollment. Orientation will take place in June, July, and August for first-year, transfer, and international students, and will involve a mix of real-time and self-paced learning. Students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic adviser to discuss their academic plans; register for courses; gain access to critical Penn State systems, including LionPATH; and begin to make connections with fellow students. Read this story for additional information and resources related to orientation.
