Penn State New Kensington student Miles Stockdill awarded Berger scholarship
New Kensington, Pa. — Miles Stockdill, a second-year student in the Electromechanical Engineering Technology program at Penn State New Kensington, has been awarded the Dr. Frederick J. Berger Scholarship.
The scholarship is presented annually to an outstanding engineering technology student who demonstrates leadership potential and active involvement in Tau Alpha Pi, the national honor society for engineering technology.
“Miles' ability to be a well thought out engineer goes without saying,” said Mike Hicks, instructor of electrical engineering. “He is doing very well in college, but he is also the first student to reach out to fellow classmates that may be struggling with a concept or having trouble with their calculator. This is a trait that is not learned in a college classroom. This is the type of person Miles is.”
