What is Kids in College?

Penn State New Kensington offers a variety of week-long summer camps for elementary, middle school, and high school students. These programs, better known as Kids in College, are designed to be both educational and fun!

KIDS IN COLLEGE 2018

We are excited to provide a wide variety of fun and immersive Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) summer camps for youth in grades 1 through 12.   Our schedule for this summer is listed below.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Snapology: Awesome Adventure Robotics

     Work in teams to build and program your models, such as giants, Soccer layers,
     and boats, for a fun adventure.

Grades 1 to 3

Beginner Drones (Drone kit included)

     Learn the basics about building and flying drones.

Creative Writing

     Use creative, analytical thinking to respond to a variety of writing prompts and
     writing styles

Multimedia Art

     This hands-on camp is all about mixed media design such as dyeing, painting
     and working with clay.

Snapology: GameBots®

     Calling all gamers! Have fun creating robotic games while learning about robotics.

Advanced Rocketry (Rocket Kit included)

     Take your rocketry skills to the next level.

Drone Camp (Drone Kit included)   

     Learn to assemble and program a drone, core flying skills and safety.

     Learn to design your very own online game that can be shared with friends and family.

Lab Ratz: Climate Out of this World

     Campers investigate how life would be on another planet by doing experiments,
     dissections and more.

Storybook STEAM**

     Campers dig into STEAM experiments and activities inspired by children's books

Lights, Camera, Action

     Learn what it takes to be the director, the editor and the star of your very own movie!

Lab Ratz: UFO Crash Site

     Use forensic science techniques to interpret evidence and piece together clues derived
     from KIC UFO crash sites.

Grades 3 to 6 Noon-2:30 pm $125

STEAM Challenge

     Campers divide into cooperative teams and take on an array of challenges and
     projects.

Scratching the Surface of Computer Programming

     Use the Scratch program to learn the basics of computer programming and how to
