Monique Eguavoen has accepted the position of director of enrollment management at Penn State New Kensington, replacing Patty Brady, who retires this summer.
Penn State New Kensington has added eight new summer camps to its 2017 Kids in College program. The new camps meld creative thinking with hands-on activities and teamwork to enhance the educational experience of grade-school students.
The Penn State New Kensington Alumni Society will host the 18th annual Alumni Golf Scramble on Aug. 7 at Arnold Palmer's Latrobe Country Club. The shotgun-start tournament is open to alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Penn State. The $200 entry fee includes green fee, cart, lunch, dinner, refreshments and awards.
Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
Noncredit courses offered through the Office of Continuing Education at Penn State New Kensington include training for OSHA standards, working with the computer software program Excel, and programming with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Geared to adult learners, the courses do not carry college credit and are designed to meet specific skill developments.
Examining the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is the focus of a community assembly on June 14 at Penn State New Kensington. The annual program, "One Book, One Community," will probe the book, “Arthur and Sherlock Conan Doyle and the Creation of Holmes,” by acclaimed author Michael Sims.
