New Kensington golf team takes third at invitational tournament

Penn State New Kensington freshman Daniel Smith (Central Catholic H. S.) fired a collegiate career-best 73 to win the Penn State New Kensington Invitational Sept. 20 at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania. As a team, the New Kensington Lions finished third at 339 in the five-team field, eight shots behind the victorious Butler County Community College squad.

Prospective students and their families will have the opportunity to discover the benefits of attending Penn State New Kensington at two admissions events during the last week of September. The programs, Fall Open House and Application Day, will acquaint students and parents with the campus and Penn State's wide variety of academic majors.

Two information sessions planned for Penn State MBA in Pittsburgh

Penn State’s part-time master of business administration degree program in Pittsburgh will host two fall events for prospective students at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and 27. Curriculum, course content, credit exemptions, application requirements, financial aid resources, and GMAT preparation will be discussed at information sessions at the Regional Learning Alliance (RLA), located at 850 Cranberry Woods Drive in Cranberry Township.

Even a sabbatical cannot slow down a Penn State New Kensington communications faculty’s penchant for winning statewide teaching awards. Jennifer Wood, associate professor of communication arts and sciences, recently received the 2016 Harvey Kelly Excellence in Teaching Award from the Pennsylvania Communication Association.
