Penn State celebrated the accomplishments of graduates during its spring 2021 commencement ceremonies May 7 through May 9. This spring the University awarded approximately 14,400 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing associate, baccalaureate, master, law, doctoral and medical degrees. All figures listed are estimates as of April 5; totals do not include the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Students and faculty members at Penn State New Kensington were recognized for their academic, teaching and engagement endeavors for the 2020-2021 school year. Penn State New Kensington's Police and Public Safety department held its second annual "Cram the Cruiser" event to benefit a local organization in the Alle-Kiski Valley region. The department chose to have the collected toys, clothing and other items to benefit the Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center, whose mission is to eliminate domestic violence through intervention, prevention and collaboration.
Penn State has launched an integrated effort, "Mask Up or Pack Up," to remind faculty, staff and students at all campuses and in adjacent communities of the importance of doing their part to limit the spread of COVID-19.
