Unity Week planned at New Kensington

Annual week of events includes the community Celebration of Unity Dinner, a performance by poet Aman Batra, a volunteer and human rights advocacy fair, and a Stand for State bias and discrimination workshop.

Unity Week events planned at New Kensington

Penn State New Kensington will celebrate the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and promote diversity and inclusion through a series of events during the campus’ Unity Week, to be held Jan. 28. to Feb 1.

"What Were You Wearing" Exhibit

Clothing and stories from the "What Were You Wearing?" exhibit hang upon walls of an art gallery. The goal of the installation is to bring awareness to the myth that clothing can cause sexual or violent assaults, as well as bring validation to survivors of assaults. The exhibit comes to the Penn State New Kensington Art Gallery in Oct. 2018.

Penn State New Kensington students, faculty and staff filled out paw prints expressing why they stand against violence and sexual violence.  The activity was part of Healthy Loving Week activities held Feb. 12-16, 2018.  The poster also aims to promote an upcoming Stand for State bystander intervention training scheduled for April.
