The "Practice What We Teach" exhibit is featured throughout January 2018 in the Penn State New Kensington Art Gallery. The showcase includes multimedia works from current and retired educators throughout western Pennsylvania through the Alle-Kiski Arts Consortium.
Penn State President Eric Barron joined leaders from Penn State New Kensington and Westmoreland County for the grand-opening celebration of The Corner, Penn State New Kensington's new entrepreneurial center. The celebration was held Dec. 6, 2017, and featured remarks by Barron, Penn State New Kensington Chancellor Kevin Snider, the Westmoreland County Commissioners, and the mayor of New Kensington.
Creative skill, imagination and intellectual achievement — the humanities — was in the limelight at Penn Sate New Kensington’s first “Off the Wall pARTy,” on June 16, at venues across the campus. Focusing on arts and culture, the pARTy was evening with regionally and nationally acclaimed visual and performing artists who showcased their talents through demonstrations, a theatrical production, music and dancing.
Penn State New Kensington honored the achievements of four campus alumni on June 16 in the campus’ Forum Theatre. Barbara Arnold, Gregory Garth, Raymond Mastre and Lisa Veitch comprised the inaugural class of distinguished alumni who received recognition from Chancellor Kevin Snider. The Distinguished Alumni Awards ceremony acknowledged the four former campus students’ contributions to their professions and their communities.
This spring Penn State awarded almost 14,000 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing associate, baccalaureate, master’s, law, doctoral and medical degrees, bringing the University’s number of graduates to an estimated total of more than 800,000. Many of the University's graduates received their degrees at campuses other than University Park.
