Print/Physical Materials
Library users will be able to again begin using the "I Want It" button in the online catalog to request materials from others campuses. When materials arrive, an email will be sent from a library staff member to arrange pick-up of the item(s).
- Please return all materials to the bookdrop located in the hallway outside the library or in the bin placed inside the library. Do not hand materials to staff as materials will be quarantined before they are handled and placed back on shelves or returned to original locations.
Closed Stacks
Library users are asked to not get books, dvds or other items off shelves. Please request library staff to assist in gathering the item(s), or request items using the "I Want It" button in the online library catalog.
Library Space
The library has been reconfigured to optimize social distancing, with only one chair at each table and signage reminders about asking for assistance retrieving materials. Plexiglass barriers have been installed at the library desk. Library staff members are the only individuals allowed access to library staff offices.
Research Instruction
Library research instruction will be held remotely. Faculty and staff in need of research instruction needs should contact Jennifer Gilley or Amy Rustic to arrange delivery of information to meet class needs through a combination of synchronous zoom instruction, asynchronous information literacy modules, individual consultations with students, etc. For more ideas, see our Additional Support for Student Research page.
Contact Library Staff
The physical library will be staffed by one staff member at a time, with other staff members working remotely. The best way to reach any staff member is by email. For immediate help, you can utilize the Microsoft Team "Library Help New Kensington," which will be monitored all day by library staff.
