Wendy Hanna-Rose, interim department head of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the Eberly College of Science and Jyotsna (Josi) M. Kalavar, professor of human development and family studies at Penn State New Kensington; are the recipients of the 2018 Milton S. Eisenhower Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Each year, Penn State recognizes outstanding faculty and staff with annual awards in teaching and excellence. The invitation-only ceremony for the 2018 awards was Tuesday, April 3, at University Park.

A series organized by the Penn State New Kensington Academic and Career Success Center continues to highlight faculty members, majors and more. The second “Faculty Matters” panel is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. April 17 in the campus Conference Center.
Maranie Rae, a Pittsburgh-based photographer, journalist and human-rights advocate, will feature her works in Penn State New Kensington’s Art Gallery from April 9-29. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Rae also will hold two lectures on April 9.
Students participated in the 16th Annual Undergraduate Research and Creative Exposition in conjunction with Career Connections Day at Penn State New Kensington, held on April 10.
