The oil-on-canvas painting by Bud Gibbons, professor emeritus of visual arts, features four multi-colored faces of the Nittany Lion. Gibbons’ work was based on the “Four Marilyns” painting by Andy Warhol.
After holding two of the most prominent student leadership positions on campus, Shannon Josefoski, a junior project and supply-chain management major from Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, was named the 2017 recipient of the Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker Award on April 28 at the Academic and Student Achievement Awards ceremony at Penn State New Kensington.

Penn State New Kensington’s spring 2017 graduates will be added to the list of men and women who have earned degrees from The Pennsylvania State University.
Seventy-five Penn State New Kensington graduates will earn their baccalaureate and associate degrees on May 6, in the campus Athletics Center. Kevin Bode, financial adviser and founder of Knead Community Café in downtown New Kensington, will deliver the commencement address, “All We Knead is Love.”
The approved cap for Penn State New Kensington commencement exercises is the mortarboard or Oxford cap -- a stiff board nine inches square with a silk tassel attached to a button in the center of the board. Undergraduates wear the tassel on the right side of the cap and move it to the left side at the conferring of the degree.
