Since it's inception in 2014, the Penn State New Kensington-led ABC CREATE collaborative has engaged hundreds of teachers in 14 Alle-Kiski Valley school districts with professional training opportunities, tools and best practices so that districts can strengthen STEM education and students can become more technologically fluent. ABC CREATE was recently awarded a PAsmart Advancing Grant through Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's office to strengthen and further the organization's work and bring an awareness of Industry 4.0 to K-12 educators.
A female student takes part in an ABC CREATE Summer STEAM Camp for females held at Plum High School. The camp, led by educators in ABC CREATE member school districts, aimed to expose young girls to STEM-related technologies and careers. The camp also included professional development training for teachers.
