Each year the faculty of Penn State New Kensington nominate outstanding faculty for the Arlene E. Hall Excellence in Service Award in recognition of high-quality service to the campus, college, University, discipline, and the community as a representative of the University.
What are the criteria for the excellence in service award?
Overall excellence in service in more than one category of the following:
- Service to the campus
- Service to the college
- Service to the University
- Service to the discipline and profession
- Service to society as a representative of the Univeristy
- Service to the student body through advising and student affairs activities
Who can be nominated for the excellence in service award?
Full-time faculty members who have completed at least five years of service at the Penn State New Kensington campus including faculty who have teaching loads divided among two or more campuses. For purposes of this award, only service at Penn State New Kensington will be considered.
How can I nominate someone?
Nominations will be accepted from Penn State New Kensington full-time faculty members. The faculty member creating the nomination should:
- Include a supportive statement that addresses how the nominee meets the criteria for the award.
- Provide supporting documentation.
Topics addressed in the nomination supportive statement and/or the supporting documentation may include, but are not limited to, committee work, student advising, involvement in student affairs activities, and service to the local campus, college, University, professional community, and the local community.
When are nominations accepted?
Nominations and supporting documentation for the Arlene E. Hall Excellence in Service Award are accepted between annually February 1 and March 1.

Send your nomination to the chair of the campus faculty Administrative Committee.
