The THON committee at Penn State New Kensington, headed by sophomore Ashley Worlds, raised $15,000 for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon that benefits the Four Diamonds Fund and the fight against pediatric cancer. The total is the eighth-best in campus history.

Sean Bridgen, associate director for academic advising at Penn State New Kensington, is the incoming chair of the Theory, Philosophy, and History of Advising Commission for NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Bridgen will serve a one-year term beginning in October.
Archimedes’ spheres and cylinders and Pythagoras’ right triangles and hypotenuses were scrutinized and unraveled Feb. 15 by nearly 100 students from high schools in the western Pennsylvania region at the American Mathematics Competition at Penn State New Kensington.
As the buzzer sounded, only the awarding of the trophy remained for students of the Kiski School as they handed in their winning answers during the finals of the Math League at Penn State New Kensington. Kiski won its eighth consecutive league championship.
