We are excited that you have chosen to continue your education at Penn State New Kensington!
Your previous experience at another college or university will bring valuable insight and contributions to your classrooms, your student organization, and to your interactions with other Penn State students. We recognize that you have likely already participated in an orientation programs(s) at your previous institution, which is why Transfer Student Orientation (TSO) has been specifically designed with that in mind.
With the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus and in the interest of your health and safety, Penn State has announced that new student orientation will be held virtually for 2020.
For orientation, students can begin making reservations the week of April 20 and will be able to select a date to begin their virtual orientation experience based upon their starting semester, campus of enrollment, and college of enrollment. Orientation will take place in June, July, and August for first-year, transfer, and international students, and will involve a mix of real-time and self-paced learning. Students will have the opportunity to meet with an academic adviser to discuss their academic plans; register for courses; gain access to critical Penn State systems, including LionPATH; and begin to make connections with fellow students.
