Amanda Becoate joined PSNK as the Assistant Director of Student Affairs during the spring semester of 2023. In this role, Amanda oversees the Student Life Department. This includes student engagement, both on and off campus; planning activities; and creating leadership development opportunities for students. Amanda is also responsible for advising and overseeing campus clubs and organizations. Amanda serves as the main point of contact for Student Orientation and Transition Programs. Lastly, she is the campus representative to the University Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion while Developing, publicizing, executing and implementing diversity and multicultural programs that build awareness and foster understanding and inclusion.

Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Geneva College and an Associate of Arts in Psychology from the Community College of Allegheny County.

Amanda comes to Penn State New Kensington with a diverse background in social services. Before coming to PSNK, Amanda served as the Director of Mentoring and Partnerships at Amachi Pittsburgh. In this role, Amanda oversaw the three major components of programming to serve children and families impacted by incarceration. Amanda has a passion for serving others and assisting individuals overcome personal challenges to achieve success. She looks forward to bringing that passion drive to serving the students at PSNK.

 

Amanda is a Pittsburgh native and loves all things Steeler football. When she is not working, Amanda enjoys cooking for those she loves, especially her husband. She also traveling and exploring new cultures. Amanda is a proud auntie and fur mom and wears those titles as a badge of honor.
