Sixteen years after starting her Penn State journey, Ruth Herstek serves as an assistant coordinator of academic and student success at the New Kensington campus and was recently honored by the National Academic Advising Association.

Herstek, who was an adult learner and Penn State graduate, was one of 11 recipients of NACADA's 2018 Outstanding New Advisor award for those with academic advising as their primary role.
