Penn State University: Class of 2017

Major:  B.S. in Psychology

Career:  Currently attending graduate school at Carlow University

According to Alicia, "Before going to Penn State New Kensington, I attended CCAC in order to cut costs of my college education. While going to CCAC there were many college fairs that I attended. I came across the Penn State New Kensington table and took interest in it because I knew many people that already attended or graduated from PSNK. I asked a lot of questions while visiting the table and PSNK seemed to have everything I was looking for in a college. It had a small campus with a very small ratio of students to professors and it was not in the city, which I appreciated because I like a rural setting much better than the city. I also liked that they had a psychology program, which I heard a lot of positive things about from friends that attended the campus. I discovered that the cost of the program would be relatively low compared to many of the other schools that were close to me."

All of Alicia's research at the college fairs paid off because once she got to campus, she was pleased with her transfer choice. "When I finally did attend PSNK, I was extremely happy with my decision."

"I loved the small class sizes, which really benefited me because I was able to do many things that I would not have been able to do if I attended a larger campus. I got involved with research in my major, psychology. Getting involved with research was wonderful and taught me so much. I was able to attend an Eastern Psychological Association conference with my professors and fellow psychology students, which opened up many doors for me and taught me a lot. My favorite part of attending PSNK was that everyone always smiled and waved because it is such a tight knit school. Also, the professors there are amazing and it was always nice having such a good relationship with the professors that I had. I wish that I had gone to PSNK my entire four years of my undergraduate degree because the two years I spent there were the best years of my life."
