Students and administrators from Penn State Beaver, Greater Allegheny and New Kensington traveled to the Pennsylvania Capitol for Penn State Capital Day on March 20, 2019. The Western Pennsylvania delegation joined other Penn State community members, alumni, friends and legislators to bring awareness to the University's statewide impact and importance of accessible and affordable higher education.
Entrepreneurial students pitch their idea at the IdeaMakers Challenge during the 2018 Penn State Startup Week. This year's weeklong event, to be held April 1-5, 2019, will offer a number of competitions and challenges for students and University community members to pitch their ideas and create inventive solutions to common problems.
Penn State New Kensington-led ABC CREATE collaborative has been awarded more than $300k to advance and strengthen its work with 14 Alle-Kiski Valley school districts and incorporate Industry 4.0 awareness.
Two young girls work with 3D printing pens during an ABC CREATE Summer STEAM Camp for females held at Plum High School. The camp, led by educators in ABC CREATE member school districts, aimed to expose young girls to STEM-related technologies and careers. The camp also included professional development training for teachers.
