Artwork in a variety of mediums by high school students hangs in the Penn State New Kensington Art Gallery throughout the month of March. The annual "Arts Alive" exhibit, sponsored by the Alle-Kiski Arts Consortium, features student works from five local districts.

Plastic litter in the ocean is a huge environmental problem. Researchers from Penn State New Kensington performed a machine learning analysis on how plastics break down in ocean conditions. The hope is that one day engineers will be able to design plastic that will be less harmful to the environment.
