Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Penn State New Kensington values and celebrates diversity in all forms.  The educational environment of our campus cultivates the diversity of students, faculty, staff, groups, and cultures that unify in the spirit of learning.

We offer numerous programs, discussions, guest speakers, resources, and events to begin the process of self-discovery through purposeful learning.

We envision a community where all individuals embrace and advance the framework for diversity, values, and principles articulated by the University.  WE ARE committed to promoting positive and meaningful student experiences that embrace diversity.

At Penn State New Kensington, we proactively engage faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to explore and experience various cultures and diverse life experiences that are available on campus and in the community.  As a community committed to learning, we challenge and support each other to understand how various cultural backgrounds, life experiences, challenges, and orientations affect how we see the world.  These interactions afford us the opportunity to broaden our worldview, develop new perspectives, enhance our sensitivities, and obligate ourselves to the value diversity has on our campus.

Penn State New Kensington is committed to being a leader within the University and our community by fostering an environment where diversity in all of its forms is celebrated, affirmed, and vigorously pursued.  We intend to create a campus community that rejoices the dignity, value, and uniqueness of each person.  It is our goal to pursue the recruitment and retention of a more diverse administration, staff, faculty, and student body.  Moreover, we want to ensure that the campus climate is welcoming and supportive of all individuals.

While maintaining our Penn State values of integrity, respect, responsibility, discovery, excellence, and community, we invite you to become an active member of Penn State New Kensington’s multicultural family.
