Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity at University Park
The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (CSGD) provides a comprehensive range of education, information, and advocacy services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. They work to create and maintain an open, safer, and inclusive environment honoring gender and sexual diversity. Through educational, social, and supportive programming, along with workshops and individual consultation, the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity strives to serve the entire Penn State community.
Coalition on Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity (CSOGI)
CSOGI is a network of faculty and staff across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to build capacity through increased professional development and training, shared resources, and coordinated efforts. The purpose of the CSOGI is to leverage University resources to assist campuses in providing support for LGBTQ students through programming, education, and visibility.
President's Commissions for Equity
The President's Commissions for Equity: The Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Equity (CLGBTQE); the Commission on Racial/Ethnic Diversity (CORED); and the Commission for Women (CFW) are advisory groups to the President of Penn State. These commissions provide the President recommendations germane to issues of LGBTQ, racially, or ethnically diverse, and women-identified persons at Penn State.
Local Resources
Persad Center
Persad Center is a human service organization whose mission is to improve the well-being of the LGBTQ communities and the HIV/AIDS communities. They serve target populations across Western Pennsylvania with centers in Pittsburgh and Washington, PA.
PFLAG Greensburg Chapter
PFLAG has over 400 chapters and 200,000 members and is the largest organization for LGTBQ+ people, their families, and allies. Some of their initiatives include making schools a safer and more welcoming space for LGBTQ+ children and bringing free learning sessions straight to members’ computers.
PGH Equality Center
The PGH Equality Center serves as a bridge that promotes education, advocacy and social justice for all LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Western Pennsylvania.
West Co Pride Project
The West Co Pride Project is dedicated to creating more community opportunities for LGBTQ individuals in Westmoreland County.
Westmoreland LGBTQ Interfaith Network
The Westmoreland LGBTQ Interfaith Network is a nonprofit organization which hopes to affirm and encourage the spirituality of LGBTQ individuals and their friends.
