The Corner is designed to attract and nurture innovation and small business development across the Alle-Kiski Valley and will spur growth in the City of New Kensington through a four phase process that brings local and regional assets together with Penn State to drive economic development.
Transition Rust Belt Community into Digital Age: Digital Foundry at New Kensington
The Digital Foundry at New Kensington will serve as a model for economic rehabilitation, so similar Rust Belt towns like New Kensington can experience an increase in jobs and new skill sets while adopting a digital infrastructure. The state-of-the-art lab space will serve as a launching pad for training and access to modern software tools by fusing digital data and equipment into new product development, manufacturing, operations and business management.
Serve Campus Community: Student Union and Cultural Arts Center
To respond to the needs of the constantly growing and changing student population, Penn State New Kensington seeks to create the Charles H. Booth Student Union that will complement the academic experience, enhance community, improve access to and the delivery of student support services and meet current and future student life needs.
