On-Campus Food Services
Campus food services, provided by Metz Culinary Management, will operate during the fall semester with no changes in offerings such as made-to-order items. However, no items will be available for self-service.
Tables and chairs at on-campus dining locations/areas have been distanced and configured to follow occupancy and distancing guidelines.
Metz staff will be following guidelines including actions such as masking, daily temperature taking/recording of food service staff members, regular cleaning and sanitation protocols and others to exceed recommended health guidelines
Café 780:
Spring 2021 Operation Hours will begin Feb. 15
Hours: Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- The salad bar area in Café 780 will be stocked with Chef Fresh items to accommodate less contact and faster access to items.
- The Café 780 servery has a maximum occupancy of five customers, with an additional two customers at the cash register. Signage will display reminders and indicate occupancy. Metz staff members will also monitor occupancy levels and encourage campus community members to wait outside the area, as needed and in a social-distanced fashion.
- All major credit cards, debit cards, Lion Cash+ and Commuter Meal Plans will be accepted. Cash transactions are suspended.
The Junction:
Spring 2021 Operation Hours will begin Feb. 15
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
- The Junction will determine distance guidelines for those waiting to order and/or pick-up items.
- A designated pick-up area will be added to allow for additional distancing.
- All major credit cards, debit cards, Lion Cash+ and Commuter Meal Plans will be accepted. Cash transactions are suspended.
Catering:
- Catering will be available to serve campus needs, however, no self-serve options will be available, and items will be served by Metz staff members or grab-and-go.
Eating on Campus:
The New Kensington campus policy of no eating/drinking in classrooms/computer labs/academic labs will be enforced.
Food or drink should be consumed in the following designated eating areas:
- Café 780
- The Junction
- Theatre Lobby
- Student Lounge
- Conference Center Lobby
- Third-Floor Conference Center Lobby
- Anywhere Outdoors
Food or drink may not be consumed while walking down hallways.
Faculty and staff may eat or drink in the privacy of their office space or employee kitchen areas as long as social distancing policies are followed, and they are not in face-to-face meetings.
