NEW KENSINGTON, Pa.— Members of the campus and community are invited to attend two upcoming programs at Penn State New Kensington’s entrepreneurial center, The Corner.

UpPrize information sessions

Established in 2014, UpPrize: BNY Mellon Social Innovation Challenge invests in great ideas and solutions that can enable nonprofits to be more efficient, effective and/or improve the quality of life of vulnerable populations in Southwestern Pennsylvania. There have been two competitive rounds to date: 2015 and 2017. Over $1.5 million dollars in grants have been awarded. Last year more than 200 entries from individuals and teams in different stages of development were submitted. Because of the volume and wide array of interested applicants, UpPrize will be hosting two competitions this year. Learn more about the competitions and organization at UpPrize.org.

Those who have an idea, solution or proof of concept that can be scaled are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions to learn how UpPrize can help build knowledge, networks and capital. Attendees will learn about the two upcoming idea competitions: “Great Ideas Competition” and “Great Solutions Competition.”

Light refreshments will be served.

Two sessions will be held on March 13 at The Corner. Register for session one from noon to 1:30 p.m. or session two from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
