Men’s soccer falls to Carlow in season opener
The Penn State New Kensington men’s soccer team traveled to Carlow University Sept. 1 for the opening game of the 2018 season.
Under the leadership of new head coach Mark Duffield, the Nittany Lions played a strong first half with neither team scoring. Carlow stepped up offensively in the second half, going on to win 5-1. Sophomore Andrew Perenic scored New Kensington’s lone goal off an assist from freshman Derek McCloud.
The team looks to build on last year’s performance with focus on making the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) playoffs for the third year in a row.
