Braun picks up PSUAC men’s soccer award
Freshman Brady Braun has been named the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 16. Braun posted a double hat trick with three goals and three assists against Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) and also scored against Geneva College.
Three players record hat tricks in men’s soccer win over WCCC
The Penn State New Kensington men's soccer team picked up its first win in commanding fashion on against WCCC, 14-0, on Sept. 13. Braun, fellow freshman Nolan Johngarlo, and sophomore Mitchell Kuczynski each had three goals. Sophomore Andrew Perenic had two goals and three assists, while junior Nate Andrews netted one goal and had three helpers. Freshmen Ben Midlik and Kevin Morrow each added a goal to round out the scoring.
Women’s volleyball struggles in 0-3 week
Penn State New Kensington women's volleyball dropped matches to Carlow, Penn State Mont Alto and Penn State DuBois last week. Sophomores Kaylea Flick and Brittany Kotvas led the offense with 17 and 16 kills respectively, while freshman Erin Tumas paced the defense with 17 digs. Senior Cora Rejniak contributed 22 assists for the Lions.
