But just how did the Tony award-winning play attract such a diverse audience in a country so politically divided? Author and scholar Andrew Schocket probes the paradox during a talk at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in the Penn State New Kensington Conference Center.

‘STEAM’ is a snap for Kids in College at New Kensington

Walt Disney’s “Steamboat Willie” movie in 1928 brought Mickey Mouse entertainment to children of the world. Eighty-nine years later, Penn State New Kensington’s “STEAM” camps bring Snapology learning to children of the Alle-Kiski Valley. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) programming is at the forefront of the campus’ 29th Kids in College summer camp activities.

Penn State New Kensington signs lease for new entrepreneurial center

The Westmoreland County Industrial Development Corporation (WCIDC) board of directors, Gina Cerilli, Ted Kopas, and Charles W. Anderson, approved today (March 31) a lease agreement between the WCIDC and Penn State New Kensington. The New Kensington campus will be leasing 4,725 square feet at 701 Fifth Ave. in New Kensington from the WCIDC. This space will be home to the new entrepreneurial center set to open in fall 2017.

Incoming New Kensington scholarship students recognized at reception

Incoming Penn State New Kensington students who received scholarships for fall 2017 were honored March 22 at the annual Spring Scholarship Breakfast at Oakmont Country Club. The social gave the new Penn Staters a chance to meet campus faculty, staff and students, and get a preview of college life. More than 200 freshmen earned awards for the upcoming academic year.
