New Kensington students celebrate MLK birthday by volunteering

To honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., student volunteers from Penn State New Kensington traveled to Uniontown, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 16 to work in the community. The New Kensington students joined students at other Penn State campuses in western Pennsylvania for "Make it a Day On, Not a Day Off," a celebration of King’s life.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality among races moves closer to reality during Unity Week, Jan. 23 to 27, at Penn State New Kensington. The campus joins hands with the community in celebrating the life and works of the slain civil rights leader through various events that promote inclusion.
2017 Farm Show Scholarship Recipients

Penn State students receive scholarships at 2017 Pennsylvania Farm Show

Seventeen Penn State students, including 13 enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences, were among 28 who received scholarships from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation during the 101st Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. The foundation awards scholarships to young people who are registered in a post-secondary educational institution and who have exhibited at the Farm Show. To be chosen, students must exhibit leadership qualities and excellent academic performance, according to the foundation.
