The THON committee at Penn State New Kensington, headed by sophomore Ashley Worlds, raised $15,000 for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon that benefits the Four Diamonds Fund and the fight against pediatric cancer. The total is the eighth-best in campus history.
Sean Bridgen, associate director for academic advising at Penn State New Kensington, is the incoming chair of the Theory, Philosophy, and History of Advising Commission for NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Bridgen will serve a one-year term beginning in October.

Blissell Library at Penn State New Kensington, has been selected as the 2017 winner of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Women and Gender Studies Section (WGSS) Career Achievement Award. The award honors significant longstanding contributions to women’s studies in the field of librarianship over the course of a career.
