New Kensington’s Sean Bridgen named national advising chair

Sean Bridgen, associate director for academic advising at Penn State New Kensington, is the incoming chair of the Theory, Philosophy, and History of Advising Commission for NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising. Bridgen will serve a one-year term beginning in October.

New Kensington THON dancers, supporters ready ‘for the kids’

After months of working out in the fitness center, monitoring their food intake, and soliciting monetary donations, Penn State New Kensington students Shannon Josefoski and Chad Navarro are primed for two days of dancing at the annual Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, set for Feb. 17 to 19 at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus.

Libraries' Gilley to receive highest career award in women and gender studies

Jennifer Gilley, head librarian at Penn State University Libraries’ Elisabeth S. Blissell Library at Penn State New Kensington, has been selected as the 2017 winner of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Women and Gender Studies Section (WGSS) Career Achievement Award. The award honors significant longstanding contributions to women’s studies in the field of librarianship over the course of a career.
